The Bank of South Sudan (BSS) is now seeking to recruit highly experienced and qualified South Sudanese to fill a number of senior and middle management positions as follows:

 

S/N Job Title Summary of Job Purpose Minimum academic and professional qualifications Minimum years of experience
1 Director General for Administration & Finance Reporting to Deputy Governor for Administration & Finance, the Director General for Administration and Finance will provide senior executive leadership to the administration and finance functions of the BSS and to supervise the day to day operational and administrative activities of the Finance and Administration Directorate. At least a Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or other related fields and relevant professional qualifications. At least 15 years’ experience in financial management role, preferable with the financial services’ sectors of which three years should have been spent in a senior management capacity.
2 Director General for Supervision and Research Reporting to Deputy Governor for Banking, Supervision & Research, the Director General for Supervision and Research will provide senior executive leadership in the formulation and implementation of the monetary policy, macroeconomic analysis, and financial sector regulation and stability.

 

At least a Master’s degree in Economics or related fields and other relevant professional qualifications.

 

At least 15 years’ experience in the financial services sector or research and academic related institutions of which three years should have been in a senior management capacity.
3 Director General for Currency & Banking. Reporting to Deputy Governor for Banking, Supervision & Research, the Director General for Currency & Banking will provide senior executive leadership in the implementation of monetary policy decisions, managing the country’s reserves, overseeing sale of government debt, providing banking services to the government and other public entities, development of the payments and settlements system and currency management. At least a Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other related fields and relevant professional qualifications.

 

At least 15 years’ experience in the financial services sector of which three years should have been in a senior management capacity.

 

4 Chief Finance Officer (Director for Finance Reporting to Director General for Administration & Finance, the Director for Finance will be responsible for providing technical and professional leadership in the planning, development, execution and evaluation of BSS’s finance and accounting policies and systems, and to ensure prudent management and control of BSS’s financial resources.

 

At least a Master’s degree in economics, accounting, finance or related field and professional qualifications such as ACCA and CPA or equivalent.

 

At least 12 years’ experience in the financial services sector of which three years should be in a senior management role.

 

5 Director for Human Resources Management Reporting to Director General for Administration & Finance, the job holder will be responsible for leading in developing, coordinating and overseeing implementation of a Human Resources Strategy and processes that are aligned to the BSS strategy and that deliver on the BSS objectives. At least a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management or related field.

 

At least 12 years relevant experience of which at least three years should have been in a management capacity.

 

6 Director for Information & Communication Technology (ICT)

 

Reporting to Director General for Administration & Finance, the jobholder will be responsible for planning, directing, managing and overseeing the activities and operations of the ICT department as well as administering the budget, staff and physical facilities of the department.

 

At least a Master’s degree in computer science, information systems management, business information technology or a Bachelor’s degree in a computer science or electronics engineering or relevant field. At least 12 years management experience in the financial services sector or related sectors. At least three years should have been in a management capacity.

 

7 Director for Communication Reporting to Chief Policy Coordinator, the jobholder is responsible for leading the development of the Bank’s Communication and public relations

programs and activities, in support of the Bank’s overall strategic direction and objectives.

 

Preferably, a Master’s degree in communication, public relations, or other relevant fields. Any professional qualifications will be an advantage.

 

At least 12 years’ experience in communication, media in a large and reputable organization.

 

8 Deputy Director for Information & Communication Technology (ICT) Reporting to the Director of ICT, the jobholder will be responsible for overseeing the planning and security aspects of information technology and data at BSS.

 

At least a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related area, with business aspects. Relevant professional qualifications such as CISA, CISM, CSSP will be an added advantage.

 

At least 10 years management experience in the financial services sector or other relevant sectors.

 

9 National Payment System Project Manager (Division Head)

 

Reporting to Deputy Director of Banking Operations, the Payment System Coordinator will be require to assist in developing and monitoring payment system policies, practices and procedures in addition to monitoring and oversight of the payment systems.

 

At least a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, management or related field.

 

At least 8 years’ experience in banking or related sector.

 

10 Head of Risk Management (Division Head)

 

Reporting to Chief Policy Coordinator, the jobholder is expected to lead the risk management function and create a risk awareness culture in the Bank by formally bringing the consideration of risk into strategic decision making. At least a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.

 

At least 8 years’ experience in banking or related sector.

 

11 Head of Special Projects (Division Head)

 

Reporting to Chief Policy Coordinator, the Head of Special Projects is responsible for managing the efficient and effective implementation and execution of Special Projects in conformity with established policies and procedures, building and maintaining relationships with suppliers and internal clients. At least a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.

 

At least 8 years’ experience in banking or related sector.
12 Senior Economist (Division Head) Reporting to Deputy Director for Research & Statistics, the Senior Economist will provide leadership on economic policy development and research and will inform and shape BSS sound analysis and policy direction. At least a master’s degree in Economics.

 

At least 8 years’ experience in banking or related sector.
